JoJo’s Stone Ocean Part 2 release date finally confirmed for ep 13-24

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Stone Ocean Part 2 will launch on Netflix this Fall, with the official release date now confirmed in a new trailer.

If you think back to early December last year, social media platforms around the world were dominated by one particular series, the iconic JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. This was when the hit franchise launched its brand new anime season through the Netflix streaming platform to a fabulous global reception, Stone Ocean.

However, with only 12 episodes being launched by the streaming giant, many fans were quick to binge the entirety of ‘part 1’ of the new season and openly criticize the platform for keeping the show in ‘Netflix Jail’. Thankfully, the release date for JoJo’s Stone Ocean Part 2 has just been confirmed by Netflix in a brand new teaser trailer – here’s everything that fans need to know.

Stone Ocean Part 2 confirmed at AnimeJapan 2022

The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean franchise featured at the AnimeJapan event in April, where it was revealed that Part 2 of the fan favorite anime was now in production.

Whilst fans around the world were obviously celebrating the announcement, the majority of the Stone Ocean community had already been confident that the anime would eventually make its return.

The first clue that the series would release a second part was actually the number of episodes that part one released with back in 2021. Each previous season of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure consisted of between 26 and 48 episodes; meaning that Stone Ocean was, at a maximum, only halfway through the typical season length for the franchise.

Similarly, there is plenty of source material from the original Stone Ocean manga arc that is left to be covered by the new anime season. As reported by Anime Geek, by the end of Stone Ocean episode 12, the series had adapted the first 50 chapters in the original storyline.

The good news for fans is that 158 chapters of the Stone Ocean story arc were published by Shueisha in its original Japanese run. This means that if David Productions maintain a similar schedule, we could not only get a part 2 to Stone Ocean, but a part 3 as well!

Finally, we have popularity; something that is hard to argue Stone Ocean lacks if you spend just a few minutes scrolling through social media. As of July 2nd, the series has received a fantastic reception from fans around the world, with Stone Ocean scoring an 8.2/10 on IMDB and a ‘Very Good’ 8.36/10 on MyAnimeList with over 149,000 individual reviews and 344,000 members.

“David production never disappoints with Jojo anime adaptations and this one really is well done. The show doesn’t fail at all to give you a great time. If people are wondering if Netflix will destroy this one, you don’t have to worry, David production is still taking care of the animation and the important stuff.” – User ‘kunal_’ via MAL.

Now that we know that JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Part 2 is confirmed, what date will the series return to Netflix?
