The Wandering Witch anime may be as close as Kino’s Journey Season 2 from a thematic perspective.

One notable standout in terms of pacing is Episode 1. The original book began with Elaina visiting Land of Mages. This was the subject of Episode 2. The backstory of Elina was told in flashbacks interspersed with the first book. However, the anime organized everything into a linear timeline to make the anime’s opening episode more interesting.
